NLD Judo Club has a Competition Team...It is our belief that the best way to improve is by applying what is taught during practices, which means getting more mat time outside of regular practice sessions. The Competition Team is not based on expertise but rather on students who attend practices, scrimmages, clinics, and tournaments regularly. In addition, showing good sportsmanship and being a good role model for other judoka will be considered in order to make and stay on the team each year.
Criteria for Making the Team Each Year
- Earn 8 NLD points = Judoka Poster Mounted on Judo Wall
- Earn 16 NLD points = Blue Judo Gi for Competitions
NLD Point Breakdown
- ½ point = Local Scrimmages
- 1 point = Local Tournaments/Coach Approved Clinics
- 2 points = State Games/Medium Sized Tournament
- 3 points = National Judo Tournaments
